Summary

The purpose of this book „Power and Poisons“ of L.Pirovski and N. Pirovski is to give a new bio-psycho-social systematic approach at the categories of „power“ and „poison“ and the existing forward and reverse links between them at the biochemical, psychophysiological, toxicological and sociological level. „The dose makes the drug“, as well as the poison, and poisoning with power is a major intervention that should be well known, so that it could be controlled. In this aspect of the power (Imperium), which is a mental phenomenon and social behavior driven by competition, the knowledge is the power to deliberately control and modify the environment and human behavior and the society, for thus satisfying the actual needs of a particular system. Poisons, toxins (Venena) in the more general sense, means an act or omission, or combinations from them, with overdose effect, disrupting structures, relations between them and the processes in the normal functioning of a system leading to its toxicity and /or death, in this case the system:

„Personality, Leadership, Behavior ↔ Society crowd, Emotions ↔ Power.“

The „Toxic“ effect of power on the object of power — the man, the society, the crowd is by controlling the human mind to the conscious purposeful replacement of current needs and values in the object by the ruler — individual (leader, manager) or a collective „elite“ to gain its competitive struggle for power. „Antidote“ of this is exactly the Knowledge — widely and en masse, as a corrective to power and as guarantor of freedom.

„Toxic“ effect of power on the subject of power (collective „elite“) takes the form of contradictions in the system „personal — social — collective interest.“ The quantitative accumulation of these contradictions leads to qualitative changes in the system. „Antidote“ of this, leading to development of the society and its rearrangement, is the effective cooperation between the subject and the object of power in the direction of reducing the material and social inequality and simultaneously answering to the current needs of the subject and object of power.

When the subject of power is the sole leader, manager, „toxic“ effect of power, which naturally is obtained in time and causes psychosomatic illnesses, is present when there is a discrepancy between the actual power of the leader with its current capabilities and what he expected of himself, thus the conflicts: "I want, but I can not, " „I want, but I fear“ and „should not, can not, but I want“, also the emotions in the subject of power, subject to the five Brain Systems of self-stimulation through Pleasures, are particularly important factor in the formation of a behavioral act. Maintaining constantly high and balanced level of neurotransmitters of the five brain systems for self-stimulation through pleasures is biochemical and psycho-physiological basis of power for the ruler, his addiction to power, which along with the dominant of Uhtomski forces the ruler to obey the principle of „all or nothing“. So ruler reigns and caǹt relinquish power. The „Antidote“ is a complex use of the ruler of altered states of consciousness (ESC), as appropriate cognitive and heuristic tools and those contemporary psychopharmacological phytomedication, together with the knowledge, awareness and confrontation with „The Shadow“ (C.G. Jung), so that the subject of power to be available on its place as a good and overall personality, which is essential for the well being also for the object of power (man, society, crowd).
